Construction, and prices

Brass, nickel-silver and white metal kit. A Mashima 10-24 motor, Branchlines 40:1 gearbox, and Sharman custom-made wheels are included. Parts for both welded and riveted tenders are provided. The smokebox-boiler-firebox unit is supplied as a cast item, but alternative flat etched parts are also supplied. Buffers are included, but no proprietary coupler system - this is left to the choice of the owner, as are paint and decals. The model can be made to represent Black Five numbers 5225 to 5499.
The kit represents many hours of research and development; however, due to some cost constraints, a relatively high skill level is required to complete the model.
The basic cost of the kit is £100.
Phil Rivers is offering a kit-building service for those who do not wish to build their own. The cost, additional to the price of the kit, is £300. For painting and lining of the assembled kit, there is an additional charge of £120.
