LMS livery was black. In 1948 experimental schemes were applied to three locomotives when the green liveries of the former SR, GWR and LNER were each applied to one locomotive. Apart from this trio the locomotives were black in BR operation. |

Construction, and prices |
Brass, nickel-silver and white metal kit. A Mashima 10-24 motor, Branchlines 40:1 gearbox, and Sharman custom-made
wheels are included. Parts for both welded and riveted tenders are provided. The smokebox-boiler-firebox unit is
supplied as a cast item, but alternative flat etched parts are also supplied. Buffers are included, but no proprietary
coupler system - this is left to the choice of the owner, as are paint and decals. The model can be made to represent
Black Five numbers 5225 to 5499. |
